The single visible eye of the masked face, mirrored by the single eye in the profile view — emblem of the King from the French playing cards — gazes, questions, or ideally turns toward an “elsewhere.” This sense of mystery is deepened by the fan-shaped seal of cards that both conceals and divides the two enigmatic figures, yet perhaps even more powerfully unites and reveals them, as if suggesting that we are all part of a greater “game.”
The glimpse of the Baptistery of San Giovanni, one of Florence’s oldest churches, is overshadowed by these mysterious apparitions. I have channeled passion and enigma into the creation of this work, where Expressionism meets the Metaphysical to explore the surrealism of life. Through intense colors and dreamlike forms, I reflect on the duality of existence and the intrinsic complexity of human emotions.
I invite the viewer on a journey through an alternative reality — one that stimulates the mind and infuses every space with vibrant energy.
