Oil on canvas
In the dreamlike atmosphere that defines this artwork, one can recognize a glimpse of one of Florence’s most famous monuments — the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella. It is overshadowed by the presence of a mysterious woman who seems to strip the monument of much of its recognizable architectural character, replacing it with the flowing forms of a garment that appears upon her body, infusing the scene with poetry and mystery.
In creating this piece, I worked with oil paint to capture a profound emotional expression, intertwining figurative, metaphysical, and surreal elements. The lively brushstrokes evoke an intimate reflection on human essence and the mysteries of existence. Each stroke holds a story, imparting dynamism and a unique energy that will enrich any space with a distinctive character and a touch of enigma.
