"Equanimity" explores and embodies the spiritual quality of absolute inner calm, that deep and unalterable presence that remains stable even in the face of life's storms. In Buddhist teaching, equanimity is one of the four supreme states of mind—not an emotion, but a condition of being: alert, lucid, imperturbable. It is the fertile ground from which wisdom, authentic compassion, and unconditional love arise.

Achieving equanimity means welcoming pleasure and pain with equal intensity and awareness, without letting oneself be overwhelmed. It is the art of not reacting, of dwelling in the present, letting everything simply be what it is, without identification.

This work is a photo-painting created using mixed media. The artist intervenes on her self-portrait with gold leaf, a symbol of spiritual elevation and divine connection. The female figure emerges as an archetype of the integrated being, capable of embodying every virtue with grace and awareness in everyday life. In this representation, the woman becomes a visible manifestation of inner balance and harmony between spirit and matter.
