“The essence of the Way is detachment.”

“Detachment” means not being emotionally or mentally involved in the things of life.

Detachment can also mean that we do not identify with the ordinary things of everyday life. We can be lovingly detached so that we care enough about others to allow them to learn from their mistakes.

It also means being responsible for our own well-being and making decisions without ulterior motives—the desire to control others.

This work is a photo-painting created using mixed media. The artist painted her portrait with gold leaf to symbolize the elevation of women as icons who embody every virtue in this life and dimension, in everyday life.
