Oil on canvas
The painting depicts the simple façade of the Church of Santo Spirito, one of the main basilicas in the city of Florence, overshadowed by mysterious figures — almost like apparitions — each showing a single eye that gazes, questions, or turns ideally toward an “elsewhere.” In the foreground, one of these figures fades into the structure of the monument, while above, a second figure takes shape, seemingly dominating the entire composition and revealing the features of one of the French playing cards — the Queen of Diamonds. The playing card may symbolize an invitation to respect certain rules.
This artwork was born from both oil and soul, merging Expressionism and Surrealism to capture deep emotions. The female figure and architectural elements intertwine in a metaphysical dialogue, exploring the duality of existence. Bringing this painting into your home means inviting a flow of enigmatic energy and continuous reflection between dream and reality.
