This artwork is inspired by a magic show set along the Lungarno Amerigo Vespucci in Florence — so named because the famous navigator once lived nearby; his family was among the most prominent in the Ognissanti district. The cascade of playing cards thrown into the air creates the illusion of seeing magical and mysterious faces emerging and dominating the space.
My painting is a whirlwind of emotions and dreams — a work that challenges reality through its expressionist and surreal nature. I used oil paint to bring to life metaphysical figures that hover between sky and earth, their contemplative faces reflecting the mysteries of existence. The falling cards reinforce the sense of an elusive destiny.
