The French playing card suits that dominate the foreground of the work invade the masked face and partly conceal the other one. The cards are meant to be reshuffled between a face hidden by a mask and a face where only one eye is visible, veiled by a fan of playing cards. The perspective of Palazzo Vecchio rises with its grandeur, perhaps sealing the passage of a dormant time within the illogical enigmas of unknown rules.

In creating this painting, I drew inspiration from dreams and their ethereal interconnection with reality. Using oil on canvas, I infused each brushstroke with a figurative, symbolic, and surreal aesthetic. This metaphysical work seeks to explore the boundaries between the conscious and the unconscious, inviting the viewer to reflect on their own experiences and on the fleeting nature of time.
